The eighth trip to Donbass opened with a Festival for students in grades 9-11 from different schools in Mariupol and surrounding areas. "Fest" is a great platform for young people to meet and express themselves creatively, as well as an opportunity to learn about our project and join the team as volunteers. About 200 high school students took part in the festival.
From October 9 to 13, 600 thematic master classes were held in schools in Mariupol, Sartana, Stary Krym and the village of Yalta, in which 1,800 students in grades 1-8 took part. All our events are filled with positive emotions that help children heal, recover, and bring back their childhood.
For the first time, about 50 parents of our wards joined as volunteer assistants. Moms and dads accompanied the children to the master classes and shared with their children the joy of overwhelming emotions.
2023 has been declared “the year of the teacher and mentor” in Russia. This theme inspired us to come up with a special gift for Teacher's Day - "Festival for Teachers". 200 teachers and educators participated in the festival program and received gifts for Teacher's Day. Young volunteers took an active part in the preparation and holding of this holiday, giving the teachers care, attention and a lot of positive emotions.
The most touching event of the season was the informal final meeting with the teenage volunteers. More than 150 people took part as volunteers this season. Smiles, infectious laughter, tears of farewell, words of gratitude, plans for the future - all this indicates that young people are recovering, gaining strength and are ready to help others. By helping others, they heal themselves.
Thanks to the project partners, 4 tons of humanitarian aid were transferred to schools and kindergartens in Mariupol: children's shoes, sweet sets, books, cosmetic sets, household items, toys and help for kindergartens.
